Eleven Taiwanese startups entered the program with the chance of winning a round-trip ticket from Taipei to New York, have US interview opportunities and be connected to Lair East Labs’ international resources.

Airtree selected by US accelerator

With plans to set up a base in the US to grow vegetables for local supply, the Aeroponics developer Airtree won an innovation award at Meet Accel. This was a program jointly held by Lair East Labs and Taiwan’s innovation social platform, Meet Startups. Airtree will now go to Lair East Labs’ accelerator in New York City.

Kun Zhang (Quin) is a tenure-track professor of management at Peking University HSBC Business School in Shenzhen, China. His research interests revolve around technology innovation, startup value appropriation, and digitization strategies. Kun obtained his doctorate in strategy and entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado Boulder. He also holds a master’s degree in management science from the London School of Economics in the U.K., where he focused on optimization and decision sciences for management.
